The Lincolnwood Multi-Cultural Task Force, in partnership with the Lincolnwood Public Library, is hosting a Story Telling program on Thursday, February 7.

Morton Grove resident Anne Shimojima will share the inspiring story of her family’s journey from Japan to the United States and through the incarceration camps. In 2005 Anne interviewed her 91-year-old aunt about her experiences in an incarceration camp in World War II. Anne tells the story of a Japanese-American community devastated by war but surviving with perseverance, determination, and incredible strength.

Anne is an award-winning elementary school library media specialist of 35 years. A professional storyteller since 1982, Anne performs in festivals, schools, libraries, museums, and conferences, and anywhere people gather to hear a good story.
